Worship leading February 15, 2007

Worship did not go how I expected or would have liked it to go, I just hope people were touched in spite of my leadership today. I showed a short clip of The Passion Of The Christ with a Foo Fighters song. I thought that it was very powerful with the lyrics. I didn't get much feedback on it, so I don't know how people responded to it. The good feedback I got was that the video was good and that the verses at the end were pretty powerful. The last song that I ended with was good becuase it was God focused. It was very important according to Brittany that I used those verses in the end to give it more of a positive feeling becuase the clip was so intense, it really reminded people of God's love. It also seemed to bring some people back to the meaning of life, instead of focusing on the petty things. I think it gave people time to really reflect and remember that. Erin said that it was good that I began the worship set with the video clip becuase it really prepared people's heart to get focused and set the tone for the worship set. Matt thought that it was a good follow up to intreat, keeping the focus where it should be. The things that needed to be improved was using more "Us" when speaking and less "I" when praying while leading. I didn't invite people to sit or stand or come foward, and maybe something like that was needed. Marco said that he would have liked some exhortation during worship or encouragement and reminders of how good God is. I didn't know some of my songs very well, some I had just heard for the first time a couple of days ago. Some said that the band as a whole seemed disengaged and not confident. All in all, I believe God can use anything, so I am going to trust that He did something in that time with at least one person, becuase He is faithful.
