What we are lacking in worship today is songs not about what God can do for us, but songs that fully portry his greatness, holiness, his vast mysteriesness. We need to have a mission to connect our culture in wonder and awe of the greatness of God, to realize that He is too great to get your head around it. Embrace the smallness of realizing that. It is a great place to be when we are in love with a huge, mighty God. a great place to be as a leader is in a place where you are constanly challenged, where you feel like it is too big, your brain hurts because of it's size. Before you do anything in your routine, think of the "otherness" of God. Just thinking about the sun, the perfect distance away to sustain life, the milky way, the north american nebula. It is hard to concieve the hugeness of God, because all we can compare Him to what we know, or with words that we know. We need to tap into the amazement of God, the otherness of God. People are missing the amazingness of God. We are stuck in our ordinary life, there is stuff out there that we don't even know, all there to give glory to God. Jesus left all of His splender and glory, reduced Himself to us, and came to give His life to redeem us. We did everything to insure that we would never be with Him, He did everything to insure that we would be with Him forever. Thank God that His ways are higher than mine. The best place to be lost in the otherness of God than looking at His creation, and at the cross.
